1st MARRIAGE - John Robertson md Ada Grace Dayton 10 May 1916 in Marion Co., Oregon
Newspaper Article re Wedding:
Amid an array of pretty spring blossoms, Miss Ada Dayton became the bride of Reverend John Robertson of Moro, Oregon, at six thirty o'clock Wednesday at the home of her mother Mrs. H. Dayton.
Rev. Carl H. Elliott of the First Presbyterian church officiating. Miss Dayton's wedding though a simple affair was very charming. A bower of white clematis and pink tulle formed an effective foil for the bridal party. The bride wore a gown of white lingerie and carried a bouquet of cream roses. Miss Alma Phole was maid of honor and her gown was a delicate pink lingerie and she carried pink carnations. Little Barbara Dayton of Astoria, a niece of the bride, preceded the bridal party carrying the ring in a lovely rose.
Dr. Floyd B. Dayton of Portland acted as best man. Mrs. Charles McAllister of Portland sang "I Love You Truly" and Miss Maude McCoy played Mendelsshon's wedding march. Following the ceremony a buffet wedding supper was served.
The table was adorned with pink sweet peas and pink tulle. Assisting in the dining room were, Mrs. J. W. Lewis, Mrs. A. J. Dayton of Astoria, and Miss Della Hagon.
The bride's bouquet which was fashioned in three parts contained the dime, the thimble and the ring and was caught by Miss Margaret Putnam, Miss Anna Phole and Miss Bessie Shinn.
Rev. and Mrs. Robertson left on a wedding trip to Portland. They will be at home to their friends in Moro after June first.
Among the out of town guests at the wedding were: Dr. and Mrs. A. J. Dayton and daughter Barbara of Astoria, Mrs. and Mrs. Charles McAllister and children of Portland, Dr. Floyd B. Dayton of Portland, Mrs. Norman Courtney of Mazatlan, Mexico, and Miss Edna Pury of Orenco.
