DEATH OF J. M. ROSENBERG
Passed Away at his Seattle Home Yesterday
Will be Buried in This City under the auspices of the Odd Fellows
Was at One Time a Merchant in Salem.
The sad intelligence was received in this city yesterday morning that J. M. Rosenberg, of Seattle, a former resident of this city, passed away at an early hour, after a brief illness. The remains will be brought to this city and the funeral will be held from the residence of E. C. Cross, on Chemeketa street, on Sunday afternoon, under the auspices of Chemeketa Lodge No. 1 I. O. O. F., of this city. Deceased was aged 45 years and 9 months. He leaves a widow, the daughter of Hon. and Mrs. John G. Wright, of this city, and a daughter to mourn his untimely demise.
Mr. Rosenberg was at one time in business in this city, having been a partner in the firm of Rosenberg & Co., the White Corner-store. Later he sold out to Joseph Meyers, and went to Seattle where he has since resided being engaged in business. He recently visited Salem, when it became apparent to his friends that he was failing in health, still the news of his demise came with a shock, as it was not thought that he was dangerously ill.
