OBITUARY: 

Word has been received in Salem of the death in Monrovia Calif, January 13 of Ralph B. Ross, 23, son of Mr and Mrs T.L. Ross of Chemawa. His widow and 18 months old son reside at Chemawa, as also does a brother Claud Ross. The body is being shipped to Clough-Huston here for services and interment, time and place of which have not yet been set.

Oregon Statesman, Tuesday, January 15, 1929, 5:1

Chemawa, Jan 17 – Ralph B. Ross, age 23, who died at Monrovia, Calif, January 13, is well known here where he spent his boyhood years and where he completed his early education at Keizer school. His parents, Mr and Mrs Tom Ross are among the prominent citizens here. Where Mr Ross is farmer at Chemawa Indian school. Ralph Ross was the grandson of the Rev John Burdette, noted Canadia minister, who died here some time ago. The body will be brought here for burial.
