OBITUARY: 
ALBANY - John M. Ryan, 75, a resident of Albany the past five years, died July 31 following a long illness. Funeral services will be held from the Fisher Funeral Home at 4 o’clock Tuesday, Aug. 1. Rev. Orville Mick will officiate. Burial will be in the IOOF cemetery at Salem. J
ohn Ryan was born in Lincoln, Neb., June 16, 1875. He came to Oregon 65 years ago, and resided in Portland and Salem for 60 years before coming to Albany. He was a retired groceryman. He was a member of the Methodist church. 
In 1900, in Rickreall, Ryan married Susan Merryfield. She died in 1944. Surviving are five children, Rex Ryan of Albany and Guy E. Ryan, Claude Ryan, Mrs. Alice Rea and Mrs. Vida Smith, all of Portland. Also five grandchildren and 11 great granchildren survive.
