James. C. Savage, 81, late resident of Norway st. He is survived by one son, Lester of Salem. He was member of Capitol local #230 of Papermakers, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a Spanish-American war veteran. Announcements of funeral services later by W. T. Rigdon company.

J. C. Savage, Marion County Native, Dies 
James C. Savage, 81, native of Marion county, died Friday at his home at 1055 Norway st. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ina Savage, and one son, Lester Savage, both of Salem. The deceased was born on the Savage donation land claim in Howell prairie. His parents were early Oregon pioneers. Savage grew up on the family farm and later fought in the Spanish-American war and in the Philippine Insurrection. He returned to farming and about 45 years ago moved to Salem. He was one of the first employes of the Oregon Pulp and Paper company here and worked for that firm for many years prior to his retirement about four years ago.

SAVAGE--James C. Savage, late resident of 1055 Norway st., in this city August 17, at the age of 81. Husband of Ina Savage and father of Lester Savage, both Salem; also survived by two grandchildren. He was a member of Capital local #230 Papermakers, Veterans of Foreign wars, and a Spanish-American war veteran. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 21, in W. T. Rigdon chapel. Ritualistic services will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Concluding services will be held at Odd Fellows cemetery.
