1880 MO CENSUS - David C. Johnson, age 1, b. Tennessee, is enumerated with James, age 31, occupation farmer, b. Tennessee, and Callie, age 25, b. Tennessee, along with Siddie F., age 3, b. Tennessee. Also enumerated with the family is Robert Cleveland, age 23, identified as brother-in-law (of James), age 23, b. Tennessee.
DISCREPANCY - obit calls him N.C. Johnson, IOOF calls him Robert E.
DEATH CERTIFICATE: 
OBITUARY: 
JOHNSON--Mr. N. C. Johnson, at the age of 23 [sic] years at the residence of his mother, Mrs. Callie Johnson, of Salem Heights. He had resided here for one year coming to Salem from Tekoa, Washington. Besides his mother he leaves two sisters, Mrs. Pennington of Salem and Mrs. R. W. Simmons of Kellogg, Idaho, and two brothers, J. E. Johnson, Bridgeport, Oklahoma, J. A. Johnson, Oaksdale, Washington. He was a member of Chemeketa lodge No. 1 I.O.O.F. The body is at the Webb & Clough mortuary. Funeral announcements will be made later.

The funeral of N. C. Johnson, age 43 [sic] who died at Salem Heights will be held this afternoon from Webb & Clough's chapel at 2 o'clock. Mr. Johnson was a member of Teko lodge No. 1, I.O.O.F., and members of the local lodge will be in charge of the funeral services. Rev. W. T. Milliken will officiate. Burial in I.O.O.F. cemetery.

The funeral of N. C. Johnson, age 43 [sic], who died at Salem Heights was held yesterday afternoon from Webb & Clough's chapel at 2 o'clock. Mr. Johnson was a member of Teko lodge No. 1, I.O.O.F., and members of the local lodge had charge of the funeral services. Rev. W. T. Milliken officiated. Burial was in I.O.O.F. cemetery.
