At Parkersville, Thursday, May 9, 1907, of paralysis, J.L. Naftzger. T
he funeral services will be held at the home of his daughter, Mrs. H.A. Richmond, 1807 Broadway, Sunday, afternoon at 2 o’clock. Four children survive him, Mrs. E. B. Karn, of Gervais; Mrs. H. A. Richmond, of Salem; E. C. Naftzger, of Scottsburg, Oregon, and C. V. Naftzger, of South Dakota.

NAFTZGER, Josiah L. In noting the death of Josiah L. Naftzger a few days ago nothing but the fact of his death and the time of the funeral was given. The following brief summary of his life has been handed the Statesman for publication: Josiah L. Naftzger was born in Burbank, Wayne county, Ohio, Oct. 14, 1829, and died May 9th, 1907. He was married to Miss Mary E. Carter, May 21, 1863. To this union five children were born, S. Alzadie, Charles V., Catherine M., Ernest C., and D. Edwards. D. Edwards died Oct. 8, 1886, the four remaining children survive their father. Losing a faithful wife May 13, 1880, he and his children have since clung close together. 
The deceased was born in a United Brethern home and at the time of his death was a faithful member of the United Brethren church in Salem. The surviving children are Mrs. II A. Richmond of this city; Mrs. E. B. Karw of Gervais; Ernest Naftzger of Gervais; Ernest Naftzger of South Dakota.
