DEATH CERTIFICATE:
OBITUARY:

At his home in Albany, Friday, December 7, 1888, of pneumonia, I. M. Adair, aged 43 years. The news of Mr. Adair’s death comes like a shock to his many friends in Salem. He had been suffering from an affection of the lungs for several years, but the illness which proved fatal did not prostrate him until last Tuesday. He was formerly agent of the O & C. at this place, and was serving the Oregon Pacific in like capacity at Albany at the time of his death. Mr. Adair was leader of the choir and also led the singing in the Sunday school of the Congregational church, and was highly esteemed by all who knew him. His brother, William Adair, of Salem, who is one of the deacons in the Congregational church and active in all good work, was absent yesterday at his ranch in the mountains beyond Silverton. Telegrams were sent, and a messenger at once started to convey to him the sad news. He also leaves another brother, who resides in Eugene, a wife and several children.
The remains will be brought to Salem on the 1 o’clock train this (Saturday) afternoon and will be conveyed direct to the Congregational church, where Rev. P. S. Knight will deliver a short address, after which the interment will take place at the Odd Fellows cemetery, under the auspices of Sedgwick post, G.A.R. of which he was a member.
Oregon Statesman 8 Dec 1888 3:3
