July 2, 1866, 3:2. A. J. Monroe left Salem last week for his old home in Iowa.

THE TOMBSTONE MAN--A. J. Monroe did not go back to the States as announced some time ago in the Statesman. He got as far as San Francisco and struck a great bargain in fine Italian marble, and immediately took it in, brought the marble to this city, where he is now making it into gravestones, &c., on very low prices.
