BIOGRAPHICAL:
Ruth McAdams celebrated her 100th birthday at a reception of about 50 residents at Willamette Lutheran Home. She came to visit a cousin with her sister Phebe, but they liked it so well that they decided to stay. Her sister taught at Leslie Junior High School and McAdams made clothes in her home. She enjoyed traveling and after her sister's retirement they traveled to every capital city in the U.S. except for Little Rock, Arkansas.

Ruth McADAMS -- March 29, 1890 - Oct 4, 1990 -- Keizer -- Ruth McAdams, 100, died Wednesday in Salem. She was born in Burr Oak, Iowa, and came to Salem in 1920. She was a self-employed dressmaker until retiring. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her nephew, Robert L. McAdams of Orting, Washington. Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Virgil T. Golden mortuary, Salem. Private interment will be in Salem Pioneer Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the church memorial fund.
