OBITUARY: 
James A. Brower Dies
Salem Farmer, Aged 71, is Victim of Asthma.
James A. Brower, who has been living on his farm six miles south of Salem, on the Pringle road, died suddenly at 11 o’clock yesterday, June 20 1916. He was up and about his work until an hour before his death. He had suffered, in Kansas from asthma, but had not complained about this in Oregon since his arrival to this state two years ago.
Deceased was aged 71. He was born in Michigan, going from there to Kansas when he was a young man. He moved to Bakersfield, Cal., about six years ago , and from there came to Oregon.
He leaves a widow and four children, as follows: Mrs. O.L. McPherson of Lacrosse, Kan.; E.S. Brower of the Pringle neighborhood near the home of the deceased; L.A. Brower of Fort Scott, Kan., and A.W. Brower of Bakersfield, Cal.
The funeral will be held at the undertaking parlors of Webb & Clough at 2 o’clock tomorrow afternoon, and the interment will be in the City View cemetery. The services will be conducted by Rev. F.T. Porter, Pastor of the First Christian Church.
