DEATH CERTIFICATE:
OBITUARY:
At Portland, at 7:00 p.m., Monday, March 31, 1890, after a protracted illness, Mrs. W. H. Odell. The deceased was the wife of Gen. W. H. Odell and her death will be sad news to her many friends in Salem, where she made her home for many years, only recently moving to Portland a year ago. She had a wide circle of friends in this city where she was a leader in society and a highly respected member of the M.E. church. Mrs. Odell’s illness has been of longstanding and death came as a relief after many weeks of suffering. Early last week she submitted to the performance of a delicate surgical operation, from which she never rallied. The remains will be brought to Salem for interment Wednesday, the funeral services being conducted at the M.E. church at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday by Rev. W. Rollins, assisted by Rev. H.A. Newell and Rev. M. C. Wire. The remains will be laid to rest in the I.O.O.F cemetery. Weekly Oregon Statesman 4 Apr 1890 12:2.
