Phebe McAdams, 95, of Salem, died Saturday in Salem.
was born in Iowa and came to Salem in 1920. She earned a teaching degree from Oregon Agricultural College, now Oregon State University, and taught at Richmond Elementary School for five years. She taught at Leslie Junior High School from 1931, when the school opened, until her retirement in 1959. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Rebekah Lodge.
She is survived by her sister, Ruth McAdams of Salem.
Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Virgil T. Golden mortuary, with private interment in Salem Pioneer Cemetery. Visiting will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
Contributions may be made to the church memorial fund.
