1900 OR CENSUS - Florence Calkins, age 6, b. Oregon [DISCREPANCY - DC gives Wisconsin as place of birth), is enumerated with M. Calkins, age 35, occupation merchant, b. Jun 1865 in New York, and Lizzie, age 36, mother of 4 children 3 of whom are living at the time of the census, b. Jun 1863, along with Dean, age 9, b. Dec 1890 in Nebraska, and Clifford, age 4,  b. Dec 1895 in Oregon.

OBITUARY: 
Miss Florence Calkins died Saturday night at a local hospital after three months illness following influenza. She was 28 years old and came to Salem from Portland as a stenographer. Her parents live in Eugene. The body is at the Webb & Clough chapel awaiting word from the relatives for funeral arrangements.
