OBITUARY: In this city, on Tuesday, April 8, 1890, at the residence of B. F. Wiley, in East Salem, the eight-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Erconbrock, late of Illinois. The family arrived in Salem last Thursday from Alden, Illinois, and have been stopping at the residence of Mr. Wiley until they could build them a home. The child took sick on the train at Spokane Falls and when the family arrived here medical aid was summoned, but despite all efforts the child gradually grew worse and died yesterday about 1 o’clock.
The family deserve deep sympathy in their sore affliction in a strange land, and Christian people should lend a sympathetic hand. The family are worthy people and it is to be deeply regretted that they should meet with this, the saddest of afflictions, so soon in their new home. The funeral will be conducted from the residence at the northeast corner of the East Salem schools, this afternoon at 2 o’clock and the body laid to rest in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
