OBITUARY: 

Ruth G. Peyree

May 20, 1901-Oct. 19, 1994

Ruth G. Peyree, 93, of Salem died Wednesday.

She was born and attended schools in Salem. She moved to Portland where she worked for Lan and Co. and Montgomery Wards. She married Bert W. Peyree on Sept. 24, 1924, in Portland and they owned a century old farm at Pretum after returning to Salem in 1952.

She belonged to many clubs and organizations including the Marion County Historical Society, Salem Cancers Club and Knight Memorial Congregational Church. She also was involved in the Antique Powerland at Brooks and enjoyed going to movies.

Her husband died in 1971.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews including Kathleen Peerenboom of Salem, Geri Wahl of Beaverton and Velmla Norman of Corbett.

Services will begin at 10 a.m. Monday in the church. Vault interment will be in Salem Pioneer Cemetery. Visiting will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday in Barrick mortuary.

Contributions may be made to the church memorial fund.
