OBITUARY: 
MONMOUTH - Ruth passed away quietly at her daughter's home. She was born in Milton, Vermont to Margaret Croft Gilbert and Walter Benedict Gilbert. She was predeceased by nine siblings.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, George Clark; son, Jay Clark (Jan), Gates; and daughter, Judith Aguinaga (Rick), Monmouth; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She graduated from Salem High in 1937 and attended the University of Oregon. George stayed in the military until 1961. The family lived in many locations and Ruth always managed to provide a comfortable home. She worked for the State of Oregon and retired from the I.B.E.W.
After retirement she and George traveled the country in their trailer and would visit friends and family. She enjoyed reading and always had a dog at her side.
Memorial services will be held at 2p.m. on Thursday, July 21 at City View Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ruth's memory to the Lincoln County Animal Shelter, 510 N Harney St., Newport, OR 97365-2856.
