OBITUARY: 

At the family residence corner of Liberty and Wilson Streets, South Salem, Saturday, Feb. 10, 1900, at 8 p.m., J. E. Bennett, aged 66 years of heart disease.

Deceased was born in Tremont, Illinois, October 15, 1833. He came to Oregon in 1881 and settled near Salem, and has since been a resident of this city. He leaves an aged wife, one son, E. A. Bennett of La Center, and one daughter, Mrs. R. V. Jones, of Astoria, Oregon. Funeral services were held this (Monday) afternoon at 2 o'clock by Rev. J. J. Evans, of the Christian Church. Interment was in Rural cemetery.
