Ernest George Clark, Jr
November 2, 1917 - March 25, 2013

SALEM - George was a fourth generation Oregonian born on the family farm in Salem to Ernest Clark, Sr., and Hazel Piper Clark. He was predeceased by his brother Everett and his wife of nearly 70 years, Ruth Clark.
He is survived by his son, Jay Clark (Jan) Gates, and daughter, Judith Aguinaga (Rick), Monmouth, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He graduated from Salem High School in 1935 and attended Willamette University. He was State Wrestling Champion in two weight classes in 1935.
In 1939, George joined the Army Air Corps. He served in the Pacific during WWII and was in Korea during that conflict. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a regular officer with the rank of Captain in 1961 and returned to Salem with his family. He was a Real Estate Broker and worked for Marion County as an Appraiser.
After retirement George and his wife, Ruth traveled the country in their trailer and would visit friends and family. He enjoyed golf and achieved two hole-in-ones (the last one at age 91) at Santiam Golf Course where he was an early shareholder.
There will be a gravesite military service on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Salem Pioneer Cemetery.
