OBITUARY:
SALEM - Sharon E. Fatland, 77, died Tuesday.
She was born in Salem and a resident for many years. She was involved in local, regional and state politics serving as the head of the Marion County Planning Commission and was appointed head of the State Plumbing Board by Governor Atiyeh. She attended Portland State University and the Atkinson School of Management at Willamette University.
Survivors include her daughters Mary Macy, Molly Mellon and Melissa Swartout; sister Sheila Glass; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Pioneer Cemetery. Arrangements are by City View Funeral Home & Cemetery.
