1880 OR CENSUS - Jane Bier, age 32, b. Oregon, is enumerated with husband Nicholas, age 41, occupation shoemaker, b. Pennsylvania, along with daugher Lena, age 6, b. Oregon, and son Chas., age 5, b. Oregon.
DEATH CERTIFICATE: 
OBITUARY: 
At the family home, corner of Chemekta and Liberty streets, at 12:15 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 14, 1891, of hemorrhage, Lydia Jane Biers, wife of Nicholas Biers, aged 44 years. Deceased had been in poor health for a long time, but her death came rather unexpectedly. Saturday she was quite well but Monday she suffered a hemorrhage of the lungs, which weakened her greatly. Mrs. Biers leaves a husband and son and daughter to mourn the death of a loving wife and mother. She was a sister of C. M. and E. C. Churchill and Mrs. G. F. Smith of this city. 

FUNERAL of MRS. BIERS. The remains of Mrs. Nicholas Biers were buried from the family residence corner Liberty and Chemeketa streets, at 2 p.m. today (Thursday). The remains were taken to the Evangelical church, where Rev. E. S. Bollinger, the pastor, held a short service. They were then taken to the I. O. O. F. Rural cemetery. The eulogy will be pronounced by Rev. J. Bowersox, at some early date after his return from the east. The death of Mrs. Biers is a source of sorrow and regret to all who knew her.
