NOTE Emma was widow of Asbury A. Benson of Turner who died 20 June 1889 and was buried in lot 951. Emma & John were divorced in 1896 [Marion co divorce case 6321, Oregon State Archives]. She appears as Emma Boyce, widowed, in 1900 census of Turner, Marion co [ED 141, sheet 3B] along with 4 children, George B., Arthur & Addie by first husband and Clyde by second husband, although all are listed under the Boyce name. She remarried to Oren Savage and died 17 Sept 1921 in Salem [OSBH DC 1921 Marion co #565]. She is buried in City View cemetery.

OBITUARY: 

[Died} At the residence, 1019 Mill street, March 17, John Boyce, at the age of 99 years. Survived by a son, Clyde J. Boyce of Salem; two grandchildren, Arthur C. Boyce with the US Army in Europe, and Louise B. Boyce of Portland. Member of First Christian church. Services will be held Tuesday, March 19, at 3:30 PM at the W.T. Rigdon chapel with concluding services in the IOOF cemetery. Rev Dudley Strain will officiate.

Last rites were conducted at W.T. Rigdon chapel Tuesday for John Boyce, who died at the age of 99 in his home, 1019 Mill st, Sunday. He had resided in the Willamette valley for 76 years, most of that time in Salem. A native of Somersetshire, England, he came to this country in 1866 and three years later arrived at Turner, Ore, to work in the laying of Southern Pacific rail lines. His wife, Mary Ann Boyce, whom he married in Iowa, died in 1931.
