OBITUARY:
BREY DIED IN CALIFORNIA
Word was received in this city last night that William Brey, a former resident of this city, but of late years a resident of Ukiah, California, had died at his home in the latter place yesterday morning and his remains would be shipped to this city, leaving Ukiah this morning and arriving here on Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning, and would receive burial in the Odd Fellows’ Cemetery in the family lot.
It has been known that Mr. Brey has been a sufferer from a complication of disorders for several years, but it was not generally known that his illness had taken such a serious turn until after the news of his death was received by his sister, Mrs. Phillippina Warner who resides in South Salem. Mr. Brey, the deceased, was born and raised in this city and his father, Moritz Brey, deceased, was one of the earliest of the pioneers of this state, and with Mr. A. Bush built the building now occupied by J. J. Dalrymple & Co., known as the Bush-Brey block.
