OBITUARY:
Final rites for Forrest Clinton Brown Sr, 58, will be held at 3 pm Saturday at Howell-Edwards chapel. Brown died Wednesday at his home at 2396 N Front st. He had been ill for five months. A Salem resident for 20 years, he operated a trucking business here for many years, worked in shipyards during World Wat II and recently was a city street department employee. Deceased was born Nov 23, 1892, at Catlettsburg, Ky, and moved to McMinnville in 1900, later living at Independence where he married Nancy A. McClennen on July 14, 1911. Surviving besides his widow are four daughters, Mrs Helen Mulligan, Salem, Mrs Loucile McIntyre, Eddyville, Mrs Esther Wright, Goshen, and Mrs Jeanette Mann, Sheridan; three sons, Wendell, Glenn and Forrest Jr, all of Salem; two sisters, Mrs Ann Cadwell, Salem, and Mrs Edith Diecer, San Mateo, calif; a brother, Thomas Brown, Condon, and 11 grandchildren. Interment will be at Odd Fellows cemetery.
