BIOGRAPHICAL:  FAMILY REUNION. Mrs. T. L. Buckingham, of this city, was born in Ontario county, New York, April 14th, 1810, and yesterday being her seventy-fifth birthday, a party was given by her daughter, Mrs. C. S. Woodworth, in honor of the occasion, to which all of the relatives who could attend were invited. Mrs. Buckingham has one son and two daughters, residing in this city; Mr. A. L. Buckingham, Mrs. C. S. Woodworth, and Mrs. S. A. Clarke. She has also one son, Mr. H. Buckingham, a journalist by profession, residing in Kansas.  The venerable lady is in good health, and bids fair to live yet many years to bless her children, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren, with her motherly love. She is as active as most girls in their teens, and, as she passes along the street, the sprightly activity of her walk commands the admiration of all observers.  Her memory of past events is wonderful. She has a distinct remembrance of witnessing the greeting given Gen. LaFayette by the citizens of New York, when he visited the United States in 1824. Being herself fourteen years old at the time, she can describe the personal appearance of the great general, and compatriot of Washington, while receiving the plaudits of the grateful people whose liberties he aided to secure. Seldom indeed is a chronicler of Passing events permitted to record one like this.  The words of Mrs. Buckingham come to us like a voice from the people of an infant Republic just liberated from the hydra folds of foreign oppression, and awaken memories of years that are gone. That the sum of her protracted and eventful life, when it sets, may go down under a calm sky, to rise again and shed its rays in fairer climes, is the wish of all who know her. The party given by Mrs. Woodworth was enjoyable in every respect.  Weekly Oregon Statesman, April 17, 1885, 5:3.  BIOGRAPHICAL:  Mrs. Lee and Miss Hattie Frost, whose residence is in Oxford, Florida, are at present in Salem, visiting their sister, Mrs. A. L. Buckingham. They express themselves as being highly pleased with Oregon and with the weather they have experieced since their arrival here, but they were surprised at the temperature during the 4th, 5th, and 6th of July, as it was warmer weather than they usually have among the orange groves of Florida. These ladies will remain in our midst several months before returning home.  Weekly Oregon Statesman, July 17, 1885, 5:4. OBITUARY:  At the residence of her son, A. L. Buckingham, at 17 Commercial street, on Monday, March 7, 1892, Mrs. L. L. Buckingham, aged 81 years, 10 months and 7 days. Deceased was the mother of the late Mrs. C. S. Woodworth and Mrs. S. A. Clarke. She was the grandmother of Mrs. I. L. Patterson, Mrs. N. H. Looney and W. J. Clarke. She had been sick for over four years, and blind during most of this time.  She was born in Ontario county, New York. She had been a resident of Salem for over thirty-five years. When she was young she was a pupil of Dr. Marcus Whitman, who was murdered by the Indians in 1847.
