NOTE – husband Dr William H. Byrd remarried 3 Sept 1890 in Washington Co, Oregon to Margaret Jane Macrum. He died 4 Feb 1929 and was buried with his second wife in City View Cemetery

PROBATE - Marion Co., Probate File #834: Hannah Holderness, Testate, Died June 15, 1892, will dated March 14, 1882, of Salem; Teresa Holderness apptd. Executrix on Oct. 7, 1882; heirs were daughter, Teresa (named Byrd by Oct. of 1882); and brothers: Orin G. Savage and Mortimer Savage.

BYRD--At her residence, 413 Summer street, Salem, Oregon, Sunday evening, August 29, 1886, Teresa, wife of W. H. Byrd, M.D. Mrs. Byrd had been sick for some time, yet her death, though not exactly a surprise, gave a heavy shock to her husband and friends. She was about thirty years of age, and will be long remembered for her sterling qualities. Her maiden name was Teresa Holderness, and she was a graduate of Willamette university, in which institution she afterward taught. She leaves one child, a little girl, and a loving husband to mourn her loss, in addition to a host of friends. The funeral will occur at 10:30 o'clock, this morning, at the residence. Rev. M. C. Wire will conduct the services.
