OBITUARY:

YOUNG MAN SUCCUMBS TO BLOOD POISONING.
EDWARD CADE OF WEST SALEM PASSES AWAY AFTER ILLNESS OF A FEW DAYS.
Edward Cade, 21 years old, died at the home of his parents in West Salem on Wednesday night after an illness since Saturday last from blood poisoning. Mr. Cade was injured in an automobile accident several weeks ago and one of his feet was badly crushed. It was not necessary to amputate, however, and the young man improved rapidly. The first symptoms of blood poisoning developed last Saturday when a small blood boil appeared on his face. Nothing serious was thought about this appearance until Monday, when the young man was forced to take to his bed. Death ensued shortly before midnight Wednesday.
Dr. W. H. Byrd, the attending physician, said last night that the accident had positively nothing to do with the development of blood poisoning. The physician said it was one of those cases which could not be readily accounted for, and said he could assign no cause for it.
Mr. Cade is survived by a brother and sister besides his parents. He and his brother managed a store in West Salem known as the West Salem Supply company. The young man had a lot of friends in this city and was popular among all who knew him.
