E. J. Chambers, aged 71 years, 11 months and 10 days, of paralysis. The funeral will be held Wednesday Dec. 14 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the Odd Fellow’s cemetery of this city.  Capital Journal 13 December 1898 4:4 E. J. Chambers died at his home seven miles south of this city, on the Salem-Jefferson road, Monday morning December 12, 1898 of paralysis, aged 71 years, 11 months and 10 days. Deceased was an old pioneer and a widow survives him.  He was an uncle of William Chambers of Portland. Funeral services will be conducted from the home at 2 o'clock this afternoon, Rev. W. C.
