OBITUARY: 

Bert Gordon Ellis at the family residence, route two, July 1, aged 66 years. Survived by widow, Edna Myrtle Ellis, Salem; sons, Gordon Ellis, Staples, Minn., Charles Ellis, Los Angeles, Gale Ellis, USN; daughter, Mrs. Laura Wood, Salem. Also survived by Ruth and Judy Larson who have made their home with the Ellis. He was a member of Sylvan lodge No. 176, IOOF, Staples, Minn. Memorial services will be held Friday, July 3, at 3 p.m., from the Walker & Howell chapel. Rev. Dudley Strain officiating. Ritualistic services under auspices of the Chemeketa Lodge No. 1, IOOF, concluding services in the IOOF cemetery.
