OBITUARY: 
Phillip Grant Dead
Sheriff F. W. Durbin today received a telephone message from Mrs. Oswald West, at Portland, announcing the death this morning of Phillip Grant, who was a brother-in-law of Mrs. O. D. Hutton and was quite well known here. Deceased was a member of the Woodmen of the World order, and will be buried in Rural cemetery immediately after the arrival of the 11 o'clock train. He was about 40 years of age and died of consumption.

GRANT HARVEST OF GRIM DEATH
Phillip Grant Passed Away at Portland Yesterday, The Funeral To Be Held Today
Remains Will Reach Salem, on the Noon Train 
A telephone message was received by Sheriff F. W. Durbin yesterday, from Mrs. Oswald West, at Portland brought the sad intelligence that Phillip Grant died in that city yesterday morning, of consumption. 
Deceased was a brother-in-law of Mrs. O. D. Hutton, and his wife was formerly Mrs. Ida Barker of this city. He was 40 years old, and was well known in Salem. 
The remains will be brought to this city on the 11 a.m. train today, and immediately after the arrival of the train, interment will be had in Rural cemetery. 
Deceased was a member of Portland Camp No. 107, Woodmen of the World, and the funeral will be under the auspices of that order. He also held membership in the Foresters of America, and the local lodges of these two orders will each furnish three pall-bearers.
