OBITUARY: 
GREENE - At the family home on East State street, Salem, Oregon, Friday, November 22, 1901, at 1:30 p.m., Mrs. Henrietta Greene, aged 67 years and 17 days. The funeral services will be held at the First Baptist church tomorrow (Sunday) at 2 p.m., Rev. Ronald McKillop officiating. Mrs. Greene was born in New York state, November 5, 1840. She was married to D. L. Greene at Princeton, Illinois, October 31, 1861. There were nine children in the family, four of whom are now living - one son and three daughters, all of whom where present at their mother’s death. In addition to the grief-stricken husband and children, deceased leaves, to mourn her demise, four brothers and three sisters and numerous other relatives and friends. Her brothers are; Albert Burton, of Galesburg, Illinois; A. A. Burton, Salem; L. Burton, Salem, and Percy Burton, Portland. The sisters are Mrs. Elizabeth Schofield, West Plains, Missouri; Mrs. Augusta Chandler, Elgin, Oregon, and Mrs. Hattie Daly, Marcelles, Illinois. 
Mrs. Greene united with the Baptist church when 16 years of age at Princeton, Illinois. Since then she has maintained a consistent, Christian life. During her last years she suffered much through sickness, but through it all she showed a sweet Christian spirit. This was specially noticeable in her last illness of over nine weeks duration. She expressed herself with great freedom and with full assurance concerning the future. She had a hope, both sure and steadfast, and died as she had lived, with full trust in God.
