Died, in Portland, September 6, 1909, Ella Fennell-Jessup, aged 29 years, after a brief illness. The remains were taken to Salem and buried in the Odd Fellows cemetery where Mrs. Jessup had a daughter buried. The funeral services were simple but impressive, only the members of the family being present.
The services were conducted by Rev P.S. Knight.
The death of Mrs. Jessup came as a surprise to her parents, she having left here only a short time since, having come here from her home at Boise on a short visit to her parents who reside a short distance out of town. She was not feeling well at the time of her visit here but her indisposition was not taken seriously by her relatives.
Mrs. Ella Fennell-Jessup was a daughter of Thomas Fennell of this city, and was raised here where she has a large circle of friends. She was married a few years ago to Dr. Albert Jessup of Salem and removed with her husband at Boise, Idaho, where they made their home until a few months ago. She is survived by her husband, her father and one sister, Mrs. Susie Fennell-Pipes, of Eugene. Mrs. Jessup had many friends in Independence and Salem and the news of her death comes as a sad surprise to all.
