OBITUARY: JOHNS--At the home of the parents, two miles south of Salem, Oregon, Saturday, January 30, 1904, at 10:05 o'clock p.m., Miss Goletha Johns, aged 18 years 10 months and 26 days, of a complication of stomach and bowel troubles.
The deceased was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Johns, and was born in this city March 4, 1885. Besides a father and mother she leaves two sisters, Mrs. May and Lulu Johns, and a half sister, Mrs. Minnie LaDue, of Dunsmuir, California, and a half brother, W. I. Gadwa, of this city, to mourn her sudden taking away.
Although she has been a sufferer for the past two months her condition was not considered serious until a sudden turn for the worse was taken last evening which resulted in her death, which was a great shock to the bereaved family. She was a member of the Congregational church, and was an ardent and faithful worker in the Sunday school and the church. The funeral arrangements have not been made as yet, but will be announced later.
