OBITUARY: At the home of her son, Walter Kaiser, No. 1500 State street, Monday May 10, 1909, Mrs. Mary Jane Kaiser, widow of the late J. P. Kaiser.
Mrs. Kaiser was born in Decatur county, Indiana in 1836 and came to Oregon in 1844, being in the "Meek's Cutoff" party, who suffered such terrible hardships and privations enroute.
She is survived by three sons: Lafayette of Baker City, and Walter and John, of Salem, and three daughters, Mrs. Dell Barlow, of Spokane, and Mrs. Bertie Riley and Mrs Fannie Hubbard, of Salem. She was the aunt of the late Tilmon Ford, and sister of W. J. and L. M. Herren, of Turner.
