Charley Kee, a Chinese Gardener, Dies From His Injuries
Charley Kee, Chinese gardener in the employ of a Portland company, which owns the Chinese gardens on Brown's island, near this city, was kicked by a horse yesterday afternoon, while working in the gardens, and died a few hours later, after being removed to the Salem hospital. He was struck in the side and back, and sustained internal injuries which soon resulted fatally. He was 49 years of age and had relatives in Portland. The funeral will be conducted from the Clough undertaking parlors tomorrow at 10 a.m., with the ceremonies usual to the Chinese on such occasions.
