1920 WA CENSUS – William H. Leonard (46y, b Virginia, occupation manager, transfer & express) enumerated with wife Dolly E. (47y, b Wisconsin, occupation photographer) and daughter Florence J.E. (9y, b Oregon)
NOTE – Willie and Dolly separated by the 1930 census when Dolly and daughter Jeanette Ellen Leonard appear in Salem. Dolly was listed as married in the 1930 census and divorced in the 1940 census of Salem. She died 22 Apr 1945 [ODI] and was buried in City View Cemetery. Jeanette married 28 Mar 1931 in Vancouver, Clark Co, Washington to Charles F. O’Neil [Washington Marriage Records, Ancestry.com]. She was the mother of the four grandchildren listed in Willie’s obituary. She died 16 Oct 1947 and was buried in City View Cemetery [ODI].
1940 OR CENSUS – Will H. Leonard (63y, b Virginia, divorced, occupation fireman, living at Newberg, Polk Co, Oregon, in 1935) listed as father-in-law with family of Charles F. O’Neil (41y, b New Hampshire, occupation engineer), his wife Jeannette E. (27y, b Oregon) and their 3 children, Dolly J. (6y, b Oregon), Charles W. (4y, b Oregon) and Nancy J. (1y, b Oregon); family was living in same place in 1935 [Note-the O’Neils were listed on sheet 8B and Leonard was listed on sheet 61A; a notation by Leonard’s name shows he belongs with the O’Neil family]
