Clough, informant George S(unreadable - possibly Sun) of Salem, Oregon. OBITUARY:  AGED CHINAMAN ENTERS BEYOND.  WON LOW DIED AFTER A SHORT ILLNESS. WAS ONCE PROMINENT MERCHANT.  Chinatown is again in mourning, having lost its oldest inhabitant by the death of Won Low, at an early hour yesterday morning.  The aged Celestian had been ill but a week, having with feebleness of age, tottered and fallen against his bedpost, sustaining an internal injury from which he died at the Salem hospital where he was taken soon after the accident. He was 76 years of age, and had been a resident of America for 35 years, 25 years of that time being a leading merchant of Portland's Chinatown. He acquired considerable wealth, and his home in China is said to be one of Oriental splendor.  He wife is in China and he has a son in New Mexico. He was a great favorite in the little colony here, as well as among the Americans with whom he came in contact. The funeral will be held this afternoon from the undertaking parlors of Mr. Clough.  Daily Oregon Statesman 20 Oct 1909 8:5.   AGED CHINAMAN BURIED YESTERDAY.  WON LOW BURIED WITH FAN AND NAPKIN IN HIS HAND.  Won, Low, the aged Chinaman who died Tuesday, was buried yesterday from A. M. Clough's undertaking parlors. There were no services at the chapel, except the burning of sandalwood sticks, but at the grave there were the usual rites and ceremonies. In the hand of the dead man was placed a fan, and a bit of cloth of fine texture, and his grave was covered with cooked food.  Daily Oregon Statesman 21 Oct 1909 5:5.
