OBITUARY:
DEPARTED THIS LIFE. The many friends of Mrs. Christiana Dietz Morlock, of this city, wife of J. Morlock, will grieve to learn that death claimed her for his own early in the evening of Sunday last. She died peacefully and hopefully, after patiently bearing the sufferings of four months illness, consequent upon a complication of diseases. Her devoted husband and three daughters ministered to her every desire up to the last moment of consciousness. The deceased lady was born at Stoffburg, Saxony, on April 16, 1835, coming to America in her infancy with her parents. She became the bride of Mr. Morlock at Belleville, Indiana, June 2, 1851, and came to the far West in 1886, settling in Oregon July 1889, where they have resided ever since. Mrs. Morlock was a life-long member of the Lutheran church, having been confirmed under its ritual in her early girlhood. She leaves, besides the bereaved husband, two sons, and three daughters to mourn her demise, namely: Mrs. Louise M. Kaampher, of Cape Giradeau, Missouri; Mrs. W. W. Goldworthy, of Brockton, Mass.; Estella E., Hattie A., and Pauline C. (the latter three being now at home), and Louis D. and Charles Frederic, both of Evansville, Indiana. The deceased bore a high reputation for her many Christian virtues, which found daily expression in her devotion to her children and in the gentle, kindly treatment of friends and neighbors, and will be sincerely missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held at the home at 10:30 o'clock this morning, Rev. W. K. Kantner, of the First Congregational church, officiating. Friends of the family invited to attend.
