OBITUARY:
In Salem, Wednesday, May 19, 1897, of consumption of the bowels, S. R. Muir, Sr., aged 66 years. The decedent was born in Pike county, Missouri, and came to Oregon in March 1889, and has been a resident of North Salem ever since. He leaves an only son, S. R. Muir, Jr., to mourn his demise. The funeral will be conducted at the residence at 2 p.m. today by Rev. W. A. Lindsey, and interment will follow in Rural cemetery.
