Vera was born 9 Jan 1884 in Portland and Martha was born 30 June 1888 in Milwaukie, Clackamas co, their parents being William Gasch (b Germany) and Katherine C. Raupach (b Minnesota). Since Herbert’s marriage records give his parents as William and Katherine, this suggests that his name was originally Gasch and he Anglicized it to Nash

Herbert W. Nash, late resident of 1060 Mill st., August 2. Survived by a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Maupin, Eureka, Calif.; two sons, Ray and Cecil L. both of Coos Bay; two sisters, Miss Martha Gasch and Miss Vera Gasch, both of Portland; two grandchildren, Robert and Sharon Maupin, Eureka, Calif. Services will be held Monday, August 5, at 11 a.m. in the Clough-Barrick chapel. Interment in the IOOF cemetery.
