NOTES: Susan A. Marsh married Warren Cranston on April 18, 1850 and left the same day to come to Oregon by ox team. They arrived in the Waldo Hills in the Fall of 1851 after wintering over in Missouri.
Marion County Probate File #379: CRANSTON Minors: Guardianship of minor heirs of Phillip Smith of Ohio. Warren Cranston, father, was appointed Oct. 6, 1869 of Susan A. Cranston, age 16; Ella R. Cranston, age 14; and Huldah O. Cranston, age 12.
"The name of my father's first wife was Susan A. Marsh. Father married her on April 18, 1850, when he was about 23 years old. After the death of my father's first wife he married my mother, Helen S. Gregory, whose father, David Gregory, went to California in 1849."
