Litchfield -- Aug. 15, 1908 -- Nov. 7, 1992. Mary E. Litchfield, 84, of Salem died Saturday in Keizer. She was born in Turner and spent her life in the Turner and Salem area. She graduated from Oregon Normal School, now known as Western Oregon State College. She later taught at Roberts and Hazelgreen schools and at Eldridge School in Gervais. She married Claude Litchfield in 1937; he died in 1975. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and Jason Lee Methodist Church. Survivors include her son James of Salem; sister Frances Hoss of Salem; and three grandchildren. Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Virgil T. Golden mortuary. Private interment will be in Pioneer Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Friends of the Pioneer Cemetery, in care of Pioneer Trust Bank, P. O. Box 2305, Salem, OR 97308.
