OBITUARY: 
MRS. CARLISLE DIES FRIDAY -- Mrs. Nellie Carlisle, 55, died Friday at a Salem nursing home after a long illness. Her home was at 420 Hanson avenue. Funeral services will be from the Virgil T. Golden chapel Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. with interment in Pioneer Cemetery, Salem. Mrs. Carlisle was born at Bradshaw, Nebraska, February 8, 1898, and most of her life was lived in that state. She was married there to Roy E. Carlisle in 1916, and the family came to Salem to live in 1936. Mr. Carlisle died 10 years ago. Mrs. Carlisle was employed at Fairview Home for two years, and was employed there when she became ill last January. She was a member of the First Christian church and of the Mothers club. She is survived by two daughters, Miss Luella Carlisle and Miss Ronell Carlisle, both of Salem; three sons, Walter and George Carlisle of Salem and Elroy Carlisle of the U.S. Air Force, stationed at Portland airbase. Late resident of 420 Hanson Ave. Survived by two daughters, Miss Luella Carlisle and Miss Ronell Carlisle, both of Salem; sons, Walter and George Carlisle, both of Salem, and Elroy Carlisle, U.S. Air Force, Portland; brother, John Gilliland, Grand Island, Nebraska; also survived by three grandchildren. Services will be held Tuesday, November 24 at 10:30 a.m. in the Virgil T. Golden Chapel. Interment at IOOF cemetery. Uncited newspaper clipping.
