BIOBRAPHICAL (Source - Franklin Herrling, 2009):
Wilhelmina was born 14 Nov 1819 in Zietz, Germany, her father Johann Karl Schlegel was a Barron in Germany. She married Theodore Herrling in Leipzig Saxony, Germany in 1839.
Wilhelmina came to America in 1854 on the ship "Heimathochin" with her husband and three sons, Theodore, Gustovus [Richard], and Rudolph, and daughter Anna, they also had a baby boy who got sick and died on the voyage, they broght his body with them and buried him at their first home in America, at Friendship, Wisconsin.
The voyage took three weeks.
The Herrling's moved to Greenbush, Wisconsin in 1855 where Theodore purchased a sawmill.
In 1874 taking her two youngest daughters Lousia and Aldina and her son Franklin, who was 14, she came train to Oregon. She lived with Franklin and died 9 Sep 1895 in Stayton, Oregon.
