SALEM - Died Oct. 16, 2006 at the age of 81. Born and raised in Salem, he served in the US Army during WWII. Don was a Purple Heart recipient, wounded in the Battle of the Bulge. Don was preceded in death by his wife Maxine.
Survivors include son, Donald Gesner; daughter, Marika Aleshire; step-sons, Douglas Ferris and Dwight Ferris; brother, James Gesner; sister, Marlee Clark; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Don was a warm hearted, gentle man and will be greatly missed by his family. Private services will be held. Arrangements: Barrick Funeral Home.
